Meet Philippa

I’m Philippa, a proud mum of three and wife to my endlessly supportive husband.Smout’s Cleaning Services began during a challenging period in my life. I needed a way to support my family while finding better balance and purpose, and what started as a small idea quickly became something I’m deeply proud of.Before launching my business, I gained experience across a variety of roles, from project management and administration to running a cake decorating business. Each chapter taught me something new about organisation, precision, and people, all skills that now shape how I run Smout’s Cleaning Services today.When I’m not at work, you’ll usually find me cooking, reading, or enjoying a glass of wine. I’m also currently training in Biohazard Cleaning, expanding my expertise to include specialist cleans such as crime scenes, trauma, hoarding, and mould remediation.I love what I do, not just the cleaning itself, but the difference it makes to people’s lives. Helping busy families reclaim time, calm, and comfort in their homes is what keeps me motivated every day.

What's In A Name?

“Smout” is my maiden name, one I used to shy away from as a child, but now wear with pride.My brother runs Smout’s Pressure Washing, a successful local business built on hard work and integrity. He was the one who encouraged me to take the leap into self-employment, offering endless advice and support along the way.A year later, I’ve found a career I love, better balance for my family, and a renewed sense of confidence.Choosing to name my business Smout’s Cleaning Services was about more than just branding, it was about continuing a family legacy of honest, reliable service built with care and pride.
